Cube Draft & Casual Play

Come hang out at Zulu’s Board Game Cafe with the Cloud City Rollers! Early birds usually show up around 5:30 p.m., but the larger group tends to gather around 7 p.m. Zulu’s carries a wide variety of beer and cider on tap, and offers a full menu that includes burgers, salads, appetizers, and desserts!

UPDATE from Kalaheo: Hey everyone! This Thursday at Zulu’s we will be doing a Cube Draft using the first three sets: Awakenings, Spirit of the Rebellion, and Empire at War. It will be free to participate, and you don’t need a draft kit. Just bring your tokens! The Cube Draft will start at 7 p.m.

If you haven’t drafted before, don’t feel like building a Standard deck, are new, or are coming back to the game, this is a great time to come roll some dice. We will have some prizes to give out, and first place will get the full art It Binds All Things available only at Galactic Qualifiers!

The Cube Draft will have 3 draft rounds. In each of those rounds, every player will get 18 cards. 15 of those cards will be cards for the deck, and 3 will be characters and battlefields. At the end of the draft, players will have 45 cards to use to build their 30 card deck. Characters can be elite, and you can mix factions. In the cube there are two of each common, plus one copy of every other card EXCEPT Darth Vader – Sith Lord, Palpatine – Galactic Emperor, Force Speed, and Ancient Lightsaber.

On every Friday in April through June, we will have events that will range from draft to Standard constructed and even Infinite. Depending on the number of wins you get in an event, you will garner points and will have a running tally and season ranking at Geeky Villain. At the end of the season, all points will be tallied and the season winners (and perhaps even a few runner-ups) will get amazing prizes!
